ΡΓΤΑΠ

The Colorado Gamma Chapter, originally the Rho Gamma Chapter of Tau Alpha Pi was established in 1977 by Dr. Verne C. Kennedy, Jr., Dean of the then School of Engineering Technology and Mr. James Bestervelt, Chair, Electrical Engineering Technology, . Mr. Howard L. Paynter (MET) was the second faculty advisor assuming  the role in 1978 when Mr. James Bestervelt became Dean of the School of Engineering Technology. Other faculty members who have been Faculty Advisor to Tau Alpha Pi's Colorado Gamma Chapter are: Larry G. Keating (EET), David L. Cummings (EET), Avinash Agarwal (EET), Mingli He (MET) and Mrs. Zsuzsa (Susan) Balogh(CET). If you know of other Faculty please let us know by sending an e-mail to Mr. Keith J. Ball. [ Correction: The founding faculty advisors was determined from the 1978 Tau Alpha Pi Journal, as this was originally misstated as being Howard L. Paynter on this web site.]

A passage from 1978 Tau Alpha Pi Journal:

"RHO GAMMA: (Metropolitan State College) Rho Gamma is a new chapter (1977). Dr. James D. Palmer, President of Metropolitan State, and Dr. Richard G. Netzel, Vice President for Academic Affairs, were guest speakers at the charter member dinner. Officers are Randall B. Hahn, President; Michael S. Dungan, Vice-President; and Andrew M. Schlager, Secretary."

The motto and other ritual of Tau Alpha Pi shall not be made public, but shall be handed down traditionally along with other elements of secrecy.
